# phototux_ui

qtbridge QObjects bound to QML. Package import is `phototux_ui`.

- No wgpu. GPU present stays in `phototux_canvas` / `phototux_gpu`.
- User-facing strings in QML: `qsTr(...)`.
- After QObject API changes, confirm QML still `import phototux_ui`.

# qml/

Qt Quick shell. Tokens come from `Theme.qml` and handbook [25 — Themes](../internal_docs/25-Themes.md).

- Dense editor chrome. Canvas-first. No second palette or spacing scale.
- Icons: `assets/icons/phosphor/` via [`assets/icons/ICON_MAP.md`](../assets/icons/ICON_MAP.md).
- `import phototux_ui` for `AppSession`. `qmllint` unresolved-import on that module is expected.
- User-facing strings: `qsTr(...)`.
- **Never call an `AppSession` slot synchronously from a handler that reacts to an `AppSession

# phototux_io

`.ptx`, raster codecs, PSD subset. No Qt, no wgpu.

- Untrusted bytes: validate dimensions, counts, and compression before graph commit.
- Native editable format is `.ptx` ([DR-026](../../internal_docs/Appendix/Decision-Register.md#dr-026--native-ptx-container-v1)).
- Tests: `cargo test -p phototux_io`.

# phototux_canvas

Qt RHI ↔ wgpu canvas interop. Thin C++ lives here (and QML AOT in `phototux`).

- `unsafe` only at this FFI boundary. Each block: one-line `// SAFETY:` invariant.
- Do not spread handwritten C++ into other crates.
- Build needs Qt 6 on `PATH` (`QMAKE=/usr/lib/qt6/bin/qmake`).

# phototux_engine

Portable document, commands, history, and session semantics.

- No Qt, no wgpu, no filesystem dialogs.
- Library paths: `Result` + typed errors (`thiserror`).
- Tests: `cargo test -p phototux_engine`.
- Mutation enters `SessionState::invoke` / the command spine ([08](../../internal_docs/08-Command-System.md)).

# phototux_gpu

wgpu Vulkan-first pipelines, composite, filters, selection GPU.

- No Qt types. Present/interop is `phototux_canvas`.
- Interactive path is zero-copy. CPU readback is tests and degraded mode only.
- Optional device tests: `cargo test -p phototux_gpu --features gpu-tests`.

# phototux

Desktop binary and QML AOT composition root (`cargo run -p phototux`).

- Depends on `phototux_ui` and `phototux_canvas` only at this layer.
- New QML files under `qml/` are globbed by the AOT module. `pragma Singleton` types must also be listed in `QML_SINGLETONS`.
- Qt 6 on `PATH` is required to link.
